Over 25 Years of Appliance Repair Experience
About Short Circuit Appliance Repairs
My career in appliance repairs began in Auckland more than 25 years ago. Since then, I have worked with leading appliance manufacturers, authorised service centres, and spent nineteen years running my own appliance repair business before bringing that experience to Rotorua.
Short Circuit Appliance Repairs is built on honest advice, practical solutions and decades of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing household appliances.
How It All Started
A Career Built on Experience
My appliance repair career began in 1998 when I was given the opportunity to repair appliances for second-hand appliance retailers in Auckland owned by my good friend, Mike Ross. Mike and his wife, Mai, owned Ōtara New & Used Warehouse and Henderson New & Used Warehouse, and their support provided the foundation for what has now become more than 25 years in the appliance repair industry.
During my career, I have worked with Electrolux Garden Care servicing and repairing outdoor power equipment as well as Fisher & Paykel authorised service centres throughout the North Island. I also gained valuable experience servicing for Email Limited before it was acquired by Electrolux in 2001, I also worked with a number of other appliance brands, including Simpson, Westinghouse, Maytag and Bosch. further expanding my knowledge of appliance diagnosis, servicing and repair.
In 2001, I established my own West Auckland appliance repair business, Applianceman. For the next nineteen years, I provided professional repair services to thousands of households across Auckland, building a reputation for honest advice, reliable workmanship and practical solutions. Those same values continue to guide every repair I carry out today through Short Circuit Appliance Repairs.

My approach
Straightforward Advice and Practical Repairs
Experience has taught me that good service starts with careful diagnosis and an honest explanation. I aim to make the fault, repair options and likely cost clear before additional work goes ahead.
Not every appliance is economical to repair. When replacement is the more practical option, I will say so.
“Short Circuit was formed so I could return to the work I know best—helping people get essential household appliances working again.”
